About Us

The Kartaal Project

The Kartaal Project is Rajasthan’s first Folk Symphony Group, bringing together a vibrant collective of young artists who proudly celebrate the state’s extraordinary musical heritage.

Rooted in traditional songs, classical folk rhythms, and indigenous desert instruments, the project remains deeply faithful to its cultural origins. At the same time, under the artistic direction of Firoz Khan Manganiyar, it is presented with a modern and contemporary approach that resonates with audiences today.

The Kartaal Project is a bold fusion of tradition and innovation — where ancestral taals meet cinematic energy, and the timeless soul of Rajasthani folk music finds new expression on the global stage.

More than a performance, it is a movement:
a revival of heritage, a celebration of youth, and a symphony of rhythm that connects audiences beyond language and borders.

The Mission

The mission of The Kartaal Project is to revive, preserve, and reimagine Kartaal as a lead rhythmic instrument, and to present the rhythmic heritage of Rajasthan in a form that speaks to contemporary audiences worldwide.

The Vission

The vision of The Kartaal Project is to position Rajasthani folk rhythm on the global musical map as a dynamic, forward-looking art form — while remaining deeply respectful of its origins.
